So before I left for my girls trip Alex had been pulling him self up in the crib so we had to put the mattress all the way down, because he just loves standing up in it and he was starting to lean over and I was sooo afraid he was going to fall out.
Then when I was down stairs I would put him in the pack & play and put him in standing and he would just love it! He would smile and talk it was soooo cute!
Then it got even cuter he started inching his way around the pack and play!
Sooooo cute! So I went away for the weekend and Paul told me now he pulls himself up from sitting to standing in the pack and play! Wow his legs are getting sooooo strong!
So now he wants to climb on everything to push to standing…
A hat box…
His toys…
Even the outside of his pack & play! I also got video of him pulling him self up the outside of the pack and play… check it out!
Sorry I took video with the camera sideways, you’ll just have to look at the screen side ways…
Here he is right side up once he did it…
Climbing on everything now…
He just figured out how to climb the couch yesterday! WOW He is getting so strong and stable… I think we might have an early walker! UH OH!
So…this past weekend was not all about Alex…although he thought so at home with Paul but for me this weekend was all about Michelle!
I left Paul with Alex at noon on Friday and drove down to MA. I missed my little boy but I have to say it was nice to blare my music and sing like a maniac and stop at Target and just walk around without fear of a crying baby… I got to Maria’s a little after 5 and we played with Kaitlyn outside it was fun! Then we had dinner and little Kaitlyn just cracked me up the whole time, she gave me a little peak of what I have to look forward to! For dinner we had homemade Pizza! It was soooo yummy! Then after Maria got Kaitlyn to bed Maria and I went out in the hot tub, so relaxing! It was nice to not have the wonder of if the little one would wake up while we were in there, it was nice.
The next morning we got up and went to Michelle’s parents house and met up with all the other girls. There were 8 of us including Michelle’s mom.
From Left to right… Jaime (Maid of Honor) Michelle’s sister, Sonja (Mark’s cousin’s wife who introduced Michelle & Mark) Meggie (College Friend), Michelle (the Bride to Be) Kim (Michelle’s childhood friend) Maria (College friend) and of course me (College Best Friend and Michelle was my maid of honor)
I came across these wedding dresses that maybe Michelle should consider…
So anyway we had a 10 appointment and we arrived at the Bridal shop in Worcester and OMG this woman came in with us and said “Oh my if you are my bridal party I hope you will be nice to me…I woke up with no heat this morning and then I got a flat tire and the heat problem is gonna cost me thousands of dollars… “ as we are walking in hearing this we were thinking gosh we really shouldn’t tell her she has a run in her panty hose… she might run out in traffic! hahahahahaha! Well don’t you know she started us… She was showing us the dresses and she was telling us how her daughter wore this one and that on and OMG we were all trying to contain ourselves from busting a gut laughing! It was a great way to start our day! Fun at someone else’s expense… terrible…hehehehe!
Anyway Michelle picked a skirt and told us all we could choose a top. The shop didn’t have a ton of selection or sizes but we tried some and I found one that I really like! I just have to make sure the dress shop can do the Espresso on Espresso. This is the top and here is a picture of another dress but in the color we will be wearing.
Isn’t the color amazing! I tried a dress on in this color and if I do say so my self it looked really nice.
After that visit we headed to lunch and we had 11:30 reservations at The Flying Rhino and we were a little early so we got there and this very Guido looking guy came out while smoothing his mustache, parting his shirt to show some chest hair and fixing his chains around his neck said he didn’t even have a waitress yet but to please come back! hahahahaha! So at that point we decided to go to the Piccadilly Pub instead…
We had a very nice lunch and some white wine to toast to Michelle and her upcoming wedding and all the fun we will have leading up to it!
Then we went to a coffee shop and had coffee and a dessert, most of us got what was called an Atomic Chai… Chai with a shot of Espresso… The next part of the day we were effected by all this Caffeine…
So next we had an appointment in Franklin and so we headed to that appointment! We got there and they definitely had a much better selection and we were thinking about some other choices that Michelle might like…here they are!
Meggie sporting her shades in a nice shade of bright pink and puff!
Then there was Sonja in a nice day glow green get up!
I found this lovely Bedazzled number with enough tool to look like a tool!
Then of course we though this light pink huuuuuge fluffy dress was the wedding dress Mich should go with! Look how happy she looks, Mark will love it!
Kim found this stunning pastel green with a pink overlay and lots of beads…
Then Maria found a beautiful fuchsia dress…she looked like she was going to WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN!
Oh Jaime! This we thought was what the Maid of Honor should wear! Looks like pink aluminum foil!
We couldn’t forget Sandy! I think this is the Mother of the Bride dress for her, very elegant and poofy!
Sonja was convinced though that this pink tiered tooling was what our skirt should be like!
Black Lace & Silver accents anyone???
I thought this should be the color and finish we should wear next to Jaime a nice shiney mint green!
As you can see we were having a lot of fun! The scary part was there were all these high school girls trying on these dresses for real????!!!
Wow how the prom dresses have changed since we all went to Prom over 10 years ago… Michelle’s mom found a beautiful Mother of the Bride gown, and we all basically narrowed it down to what we would like and are going to finalize our decisions by April 30th and get our orders in!
We all headed back to Michelle’s parents house and we chatted a bit about the Bachelorette Party & Shower that will take place in August, yahoo!!!! Then some of the girls had to head out but a few of us hung out and had some snacks.
I stayed over Michelle’s house and we talked some more about all the plans! It is going to be soooo much fun! October 24th will be here before Michelle knows it! We are all soooooo excited to see our little Michelle marry Mark and live happily ever after!
What a great weekend!
I can’t say Paul had such a great weekend though, poor little boy wasn’t feeling very well and so Paul experienced the not so fun part of being daddy! He did a great job though.
Wow what a trip! So our trip was suppose to start last Tuesday and we got up real early and got to the airport by 7:30 for a 8:50 flight and said our good byes to Paul and there was a small delay and then we got to pre-board and we got settled into our seat and got a really nice older lady and her husband who had 9 kids next to us I thought this is going to be great! So we waited and waited and the pilot came on the mic and said we were going to have to wait a little longer because they had to check something. So we waited, about an hour and then the pilot came on again and said sorry but the problem is worse than we thought we need to get a part from NY and the plane will not be fixed till about 4 PM???!!! I thought, what am I going to do with Alex till 4 PM???? So I called Paul and he said he would come over and bring some baby food for Alex. So we walked around the airport again and again till Alex fell asleep and then around noon Paul came and we had lunch! So then we said good-bye to daddy again and went to wait some more. Well the part arrived finally at 2:30 and they started working. Well we waited some more and finally at 4:00 they said it was looking more like 6 PM I thought no way they wouldn’t get us to Aunt Di & Uncle Brads till 11 PM and by that point Alex would be exhausted. So we booked the next days flight and had Paul come pick us up. By this time Alex was pretty confused but stayed pretty even tempered. So Paul picked us up we went and got some dinner and went home…
The next morning we got up and did it all over again! This time we took off though, on time. We were told by the pilot that we would be there by 11:30??? Wow VT to FL in 2 1/2 hours that’s amazing! We arrived in sunny FL and Alex was amazing the entire plane trip! He just sat with me, watched some cartoons, took a nap and just had a great time! We arrived in Orlando and outside the JetBlue terminal there was Aunt Di & Uncle Brad! It was so great to finally be there! The first thing we did after we got our bags was take off Alex’s socks to let his little piggy toes be free!
So we got in the car and drove to Dunnellon, FL, which is about 2 hours from Orlando. The weather was gorgeous!
So we got to their house and Alex decided he wanted a nap, so I left him in his car seat and let him nap in the sun!
Then when he got up we had Happy Hour and sat outside! It was sooooo nice! Vacation here I am I thought!
The first day Alex discovered the new room filled with windows, this would prove to be his most favorite room in the house with all the windows just his size!
Standing on his tippys, this boy wants to walk!
We brought his clip on chair so he could be where all the action was in the kitchen!
The dinners we had were sooooooo yummy! Pizza one night, Rotisserie Chicken with Carrot Souffle, Catfish with rice, Sweet Onion Pie, oh the food was so good!
One morning Uncle Brad wanted to show Alex the birthday present he got Aunt Di…
He cried his head off right after this picture…
Mommy made him feel all better!
Alex had all the comforts of home, a high chair, a pack & play, his bouncy seat and his clip on chair, he was all set! But the best toy of all was his new friend Keel the cocker spaniel! They played ball a lot and Alex kept trying to grab his tail and Keel just politely walked away!
One morning Alex was crawling all over the place and got ahold of my sun hat so I put it on him!
Here is Alex after a tough morning of crawling all over the house!
On Saturday Alex and I sunbathed while Aunt Di & Uncle Brad played a round of golf…
Here is Uncle Brad walking past the house on the golf course…
Here is Aunt Di walking past the house on the golf course…
Here is Alex & I enjoying the 80° day on the back patio as Aunt Di & Uncle Brad walk by on the golf course.
Here is Alex in front of the beautiful Azalea Bush! Here he is saying “Too much sun mommy!”
Look at how happy my little boy is! He loved being free to crawl crawl crawl!
One afternoon we went for a walk down to the park. This is Alex looking out for Alligators!
Alex crawling and having fun in his favorite room after a day of shopping with me and Auntie Di in Crystal Springs! I love the Bealls Outlet store!
On Monday we designated it Quilting day! Aunt Di is making a quilt for Alex and this is some of the blocks as we were working on them…
The pattern is sooooo fun! It is bright colored frogs dancing!
I learned a lot about quilting and helped pick out the fabric and pin the fabric together for Aunt Di to sew. It was a lot of fun!
Below are three Squares sewn together, there will be another 4 rows just like this, and a border of turquoise with swirl designs, I can’t wait to see it when it is all done!
It was a lot of fun quilting for the day!
Here is Alex & Uncle Brad hanging out. Alex was always staring and smiling at Uncle Brad!
Tuesday Aunt Di had to meet someone at the Golf Club to organize a golf tournament she is coordinating today and then she was going to play a round of 18 hole golf, so Alex & I packed a picnic and went down to the park to play in the sand and swim!
I know what your thinking…we swam where there are Alligators???
YES WE DID! We had sooooooo much fun too! We never saw an Alligator! We did see lots of fishies though! Where we are swimming is called the Rainbow Springs River! This river is fed from a natural spring and pumps out 490 million gallons of water daily! Because it is a natural spring the water temperature is a constant 72° F all year long! So the water was 72° the air was 85° it was perfect!
After a swim Alex took a nap under a shady umbrella while I sunbathed!
Here is Alex in his new Florida outfit we got him while shopping Sunday! He is loving it! We reached Wednesday which was the last day of our trip but we didn’t fly out till 7 PM so we basically had the whole day! It was nice. So I let Alex crawl all over the place and get out his energy before the 2 hour car ride and 3 hour plane ride…
We took some nice pictures outside.
Here is Aunt Di with Alex.
Look at my handsome boy!
I needed to get packed so we handed Alex the Victoria Secret Catalog to take a peak at!
He liked it!
Then when he got bored and started chewing that, we gave him a laundry basket to play in… Because I had packed all of his toys…
Then it was time to pack up and head to the Airport. We got there and I got some dinner to bring on the plane and got Alex his first Mickey T-Shirt and told him he could have it if he promised to be a good boy on the plane!!
He was an awesome boy! He didn’t sleep but he wasn’t a grouch!
We got in around 9:30 last night and we were both very happy to see Paul! We slept in this morning but Alex is still a little grumpy today!
I think he wants to be back in warm sunny Florida…it is only 21° here in VT today…oh well, hopefully Spring will be here soon!
That was our adventure to Florida!
